She's a witch!
Words such as these struck terror into the hearts of Salem
townspeople in the early spring of 1692 as hysterical young
girls called out names. The Salem Witch Museum brings you
back to Salem - 1692. Visitors are given a dramatic history
lesson using stage sets with life-size figures, lighting and
a narration - an overview of the Witch Trials of 1692.

Dungeon Museum- Salem

Come raise the devil at the Witch Dungeon Museum!
Continuous live shows all day from 10am to 5pm. Award
winning reenactment of the trial of beggar-woman Sarah Good
- from the original transcript of 1692.
A guided tour of the dungeon, where you will see the poor
conditions and the actual size of the cells that the accused
were kept in while awaiting their trials. It also includes a
recreated village and Gallows Hill.

Witch History Museum- Salem
THE UNTOLD STORIES OF 1692!
The stories of 1692 are told through a historically accurate
live presentation and tour, where you will walk thru the
forest, meet Tituba in Rev. Parris' kitchen, visit Old Salem
Village and view 15 life size scenes depicting these
stories.
The Witch Hysteria not only enveloped Salem, but all 34
towns and villages of Essex County. Hundreds of accused
witches filled the jails awaiting trial. Some died in

Coffin House-
Newbury
With rooms reflecting the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries,
Coffin House chronicles the evolution of domestic life in
rural New England over three centuries. Built in 1654 the
house began as a simple two-room dwelling. Over the
centuries as the family grew and finances became more
readily available the dwelling was enlarged to accommodate
different generations living under one roof. Of particular
interest are the early kitchens and buttery. Tours at 11,
12, 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Custom House Maritime Museum- Newburyport
Features model ships, including the famous Dreadnaught,
rooms devoted to the Coast Guard, ship wrecks, author John
P, Marguand and a quilt made a sea.
Essex Shipbuilding Museum- Essex
The Essex Shipbuilding Museum is a non-profit cultural
organization that tells the extraordinary story of a small
New England village that built more two-masted wooden
fighing schooners than any other place in the world.
Gloucester Maritime Heritage Center- Gloucester
The Gloucester Maritime Heritage Center is an outdoor museum
which makes the historical connections between the health of
the Gulf of Maine and the health of the related shoreside
industries.

Ipswich Historical Society
Founded in 1890, the Ipswich Historical Society is a
nonprofit organization chartered in 1898 to preserve,
promote and celebrate Ipswich's rich and diverse history.
IHS maintains two historic houses and offers tours of these
museums: the 1677 John Whipple House and the 1800 Heard
House.
Lowell's Boat Shop
Established in 1793, and cited as the birthplace of the
fishing dory, Lowell's Boat Shop is the oldest continously
operating boat shop in the United States. As a non-profit
working museum the Boat Shops mission is to preserve and

Iron Works
(c. 1646) Commemorates America's first successful integrated
iron works. Reconstructed furnace, forge and mill all

Spencer-Peirce-Little Farm
This enchanting 230 acre farm features a unique stone and
brick manor house built circa 1690. The farm is a
family-friendly site whose activities teach about life on
the farm over the centuries. There are animals to visit,
trails to walk, and the house is open seasonally.

of the Seven Gables- Salem
Tour the mansion made famous by Nathaniel Hawthorne's novel.
Includes author's birthplace, seaside gardens, Museum Store
and Garden Cafe. Open year round 10am to 4:30pm daily.
The Lighthouse Preservation Society
The Lighthouse Preservation Society is the nonprofit
organization that has made lighthouse preservation a
national issue with Congressional hearings, conferences, the
sponsorship of National Lighthouse Day and its celebrations,
the nomination of 20 U.S. lighthouse postage stamps, and the
raising of nearly $6 million for over 160 lighthouse
projects. This prestigious group is also the recipient of a
Presidential Achievement Award from the federal government
for its efforts to preserve our lighthouse heritage.
The Lighthouse Preservation Society's current project is to
create a Coast Guard Memorial Park in Newburyport, the
birthplace of the U.S. Coast Guard.
The Witches Cottage
Fact, legend, and myth come together for a truly unique
experience. Enter the darkened chamber of the Witches
Cottage for a live twenty minute show revealing Salem's
witchcraft and ghosts. June-Ocotber.
Wenham
Museum
The Wenham Museum is a family friendly museum of social
history exploring how we have lived, worked, dressed, and
played from the 17th century to today. The museum features
the Claflin-Richard House c.1690, a world renowned doll
collection, dollhouses, costumes and textiles, model trains,
toys, historic photographs, the interactive family gallery
as well as special exhibits.
